Journeys Greenwich West Hostel in Berlin, Anglie

The staff are friendly but the rooms are infested with BED BUGS, myself and other guests in various rooms had bites all over their bodies. The manager seemed concerned but as you can see from other reviews nothing is being done except repeated apologies and hollow promises. There is no sense of pride for the upkeep drywall drilled onto the ceiling, carpet is dirty and peeling back on floors, cluttered rooms, the bar downstairs is frequented by homeless people and the music is vintage. Thanks for booking with us, to our surprise, as soon as the issue of bed bug was brought to our attention, the pest control company treated all the rooms. Also contrary to the fact that we don't take pride in the cleaning of the hostel, that is so untrue, we have cleaners working around the clock in the hostel. Also with the issue of room being clustered, all the room have lockers provided which are free as well, so we can�t really control what goes on in the room if the guest decided not to use them. We have closed the bar downstairs now, just for resident only, so i guess when next you visit, it will better place.

Firstly, the hostel is not at all situated in Greenwich, but in Deptford, which is very different. Secondly, there is a pub directly under the hostel which has extremely loud music until midnight every night, and 3 or even 5am on weekends. The free earplugs provided by reception are not much help. There are only 4 toilets and showers available for the whole hostel. Everything else is adequate for a short stay, if you are only looking for a place to sleep. The staff in this hostel made our stay fantastic, they were so extremely helpful. I have stayed in many hostels throughout Europe and i have never come across such nice and friendly staff as those here at Journeys. The hostel itself was very clean and tidy. It had a very comfortable and relaxed feel. This was great for us as we were staying here for a prolonged time whilst looking for a place to live. Il y a eu une fête et ça faisait du bruit tout au long de la nuit. Mais j ai été averti de la fête à mon arrivée, j aurai pu annuler la réservation. Le lit est correct. Salle commune très petite. The friendliest staff ever! Very clean bathrooms! We had to cancel 2 of our 4 nights and they gave us our money back, right away, no questions asked, that was great! The breakfast could be better tho... but that´s the only thing I have to say. I recommend it.

Our receptionist was very helpful! Facilities are clean. Lockers are a little small. Free breakfast is always a plus. Wifi works well. There's a bar in the lobby. Good, clean hostel.
