I and my son stayed there for 6 days and really enjoyed the time. The manager was so kind and considerate and ready to help. we really appreciated it.

I came here for 5 days, and I've been here for a month and counting. Enough said. Lots of people on working holiday staying here and working. Nice area, only 15 minute walk to the city.

Good place to stay if you are needing to stay in Auckland. I didn't use the public transportation so I can't comment on that but it did seem to be a bit of a walk from the big supermarket. I would recommend renting a car as this will be your best bet in seeing the area around Auckland. They had pretty clean facilities and the manager was helpful with the questions I had. I would stay here again.

excellent place to stay would highly recommend but its a bit far from the centre if you plan to walk otherwise spot on plus there's also free wi fi

stay here if you like the smell of boiled cabbage!! nice rooms and staff but the lack of a door on the kitchen made the lounge stink. and some weird people staying there! too wierd to stay in a yha. ha ha

Nice place with friendly staff.
Its in Parnell, which is a bit out of town, but if you are after a bit of quiet in a very nice area, its just for you.
Id stay there again.
PS If you get the bus into town, just double check with either the hostel or a local which side of the road you have to catch it from, as it can be an uneccesary long ride if you get on at the wrong side, as I found out!

Lantana lodge was great. Clean, tidy, a great place to relax. Good atmosphere and really friendly people. Only downside was that our room was cold and had no heater!! Also our room had the phone on the other side of the wall, and people didn't seem to play by the rules of not making phone calls after 10pm! Impossible to get to sleep!

We didnt stay at the hostel but from what I saw of Lantana Lodge it was clean and friendly. They overbooked and moved us to their B&B for the same price. The B&B was very nice but no good for cooking your own meals. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
