First of all, the atmosphere in this hostel was very weird: people in groups, nobody answers when u say " hi " ... Then, at our arrival, they made us pay more than previoused, and asked us to pay an extra-fee, because we arrived at 2 am... So no reception 24 hours. The breakfast wasnt included in the price, and for me that was amazing, because usually in almost all hostels now, its included. Car park on street is not free during week. Hostel has car park but small not many cars can fit in. Other car park recommended by hostel is terrible (the same street few buildings away). Owner can speak only hungarian and overcharges. Otherwise good place to stay. Damian, from Poland ~ 5th May 2012

First thing that disappointed me was that on our arrival they charged us more then we were supposed to pay. This happed for the first time in my history of booking. Our private room was super small, no beds insted we had smth like two old couches with dirty upholstery. The linen smelled clean but no way looked like it was actually clean. Bathrooms were dirty. Definitely a positive experience - the receptionist is incredibly nice and sweet, the price is SO cheap (we ended up paying the equivalent of 6 euros per person for a night.. cheaper if you stay more than a night).. the only thing is, this hostel is advertised is being in the CENTER of things, and it's not. We were a hair too far (and drunk) to walk home after a night out (great nightlife nearby), so we had to take a taxi instead - spent twice as much money as we had spent all night. :-( Joanna, from USA ~ 28th Feb 2012

Auuser, dass ich am zweiten Abend Probleme mit meinem Bett hatte, da sie die Decken abgezogen hatten und ich erst am spaeten Abend dies mit bekam, so dass mein Bett belegt war und ich mir ein neues suchen musste war alls super!!! Sehr emphehlenswertes Hostel!!!! John, from Germany ~ 19th Sep 2011

We really enjoyed staying in Mandarine hostel. The prices are great. Most of the other people were in age group of 20-30. The equipment in kitchen is more than sufficient to cook your own meals. There are 3 refridgerators, where you can store your food. The toilets and showers are cleaned daily. The main entrance is opened by code, which you recieve at your arrival. Not very central location but near to supermarkets/banks - not too far to walk to city centre/shops. Nice old building with big communal lounge and free internet. No breakfast included but good guest kitchen. Zoltan - seemingly only member of staff - is hilarious but reception is not 24 hour. No key + no Zoltan = no getting in. Shower/bathroom average, not very private. Cheap rooms were nice and roomy and no key deposit. Good place to meet people, nice outdoor courtyard to socialise. Chloe, from England ~ 6th Sep 2011
