Ali was very helpful and friendly. All of his recommendations were fantastic! Thank for all the apple teas! Only downside was the wet bathroom floor but that was not really a big deal. Megan, from USA ~ 5th May 2012

The staff at Mavi guesthouse were fantastic, they were really lovely people. That didn't really make up for the state that the bathrooms were constantly in though, there was a pool of water on the floor of the toilet (just the 1 toilet for the whole floor) constantly, and it stunk. They were not nice and in the time we stayed, we left the hostel to use the bathroom at restaurants etc when we could. The room we had was fine, but located under the stairs it got very noisy every night about 3am wi Sarah, from New Zealand ~ 13th May 2012

We are three girls and we enjoyed it so much in Mavi Guesthouse. We had a really great time. Its the best place to meet people from all over the world and we had a lot of fun. The location is perfect. Only a few minutes from the most important places in Istanbul and in a beautiful quarter with a lot of restaurants and shisha bars. Ali the owner is so amazing and he cares really for you to have a good time. We would recommend it to everyone. Mavi Guesthouse is allways worth a journey! Viviana, from Germany ~ 7th Apr 2012

Stayed in the rooftop-shared room: totally unique open-air space w/ no lights (enough from street) + balcony. Feels a lot like camping in the middle of a city, you hear it all: lovely prayer calls, the not-so-lovely squawking birds, people chatting. Was AMAZING to wake up next to the Aya Sophia mornings and walk around the block Topkapi Palace. Loved Ali + his assi. The hostel is located in an ideal area, but it isn't really clean.Although the towels, sheets where clean the were so old they kept looking dirty.The hostel could invest more time/money in making the place look cleaner, so there is no mold or dust. Maria Palina, from Netherlands ~ 6th Jun 2011
