The hostel is great! It is located across the street from the Art Institute (free), walking distance to "Eat Street", several bus lines in the area, 3-4 miles from downtown and U of MN. The neighborhood is mixed but safe and I would definitely stay there again. The building is old, the floors were squeaky, and the shower/bath combo could use an update but this was still a great place to stay on a budget.Charlie, Scott, and Georgie (the staff) were always friendly and helpful. Thanks guys! It was decent all I really needed was a place to stay, and in that regard my expectations were met. There was nothing noticeably wrong. It just wasn't a particularly lively place. Madeline, from USA ~ 8th Mar 2012

The hostel was a mess. Very dirty, unfriendly stuff and broken inventory (light did not work, old socks on the baseboard, mildewed shower curtain, pillows looked as someone has already thrown up on it etc). Bathroom looked as it has not been cleaned for a month at least. I left the hostel after 2 nights, payed the whole price for 5 nights. Money was non-refundable. Seems that is the only way they can earn money. A waste of money! Very upsetting! If you need a proof - ask me for pics!

A great place to stay if the sheets were clean, the towels were new, the room was swept and the people were smiling more. No breakfast, 10 dollars for storage bags during the day. The shower has to be fix. A lot to do in a nice house. great kitchen though but not my favorite International hostel : Chicago still has the beat grade ! Olivier, from France ~ 15th Aug 2011

The place is bland, boring, and the staff at best is tolerable. The staff don't know how to smile. They are blunt, bordering on rude. What's worse is that the place is very expensive. The value is not there with this place. Unfortunately, there are not many hostels in Minneapolis therefore, you're stuck. The male dorm felt and looked like jail.I don't recommend it I say avoid it if you can.
