Red Lantern House in Varanasi, China

This is not really a hostel, so if you're looking for the hostel atmosphere don't go here (I'm talking about the wings, I don't know about the main building).. But as a hotel/guesthouse it's just really good! The rooms are very clean and quite big. The location is in a hutong, but with a big shopping street around the corner. It's very good and a nice neigbourhood, but quite far from most sights.. I saw one staff member that spoke very good english, but the other ones don't speak! Place a little bit noisy (all the room are in front of the commune place). Rooms are corrects. Good situation (near ligne 4 and 2). Just, personnal has very unfriendly and looks so boring to help us. robert, from France ~ 10th Oct 2011

The hostel has a lot of character and was clean. The staff were helpful and could speak fairly good English. It is not a long walk to a subway station, but it is not close to the main sights. I would definitely recommend it. Stephanie, from Wales ~ 13th Sep 2011
