Safestay is very chic and clean. But the staff is very rude. Especially a lady named Fabiana. She was very rude when we checked in and throughout our stay there. Also the bartender is a bit imposing but harmless. The owner flits about but is not one to ask how everything is going with your stay. She doesn't offer a warm smile either. This is the nicest hostel I've ever been to, definitely. It was so clean and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The beds and linen are comfortable and I liked the idea of the curtains around the bed. There are only two negative things I have to point out: there was no kitchen, and the doors where very loud, so you could hear everything going on in the hallway. Very new, clean, well designed hostel. I have a couple minor issues: 1. No kitchen. Not even a microwave. 2. On Saturday morning (admittedly a busy time) there was no toilet paper in the first 5 bathrooms I went to. 3. Creepy neighborhood. I went on a walk my first evening there at 5pm (not even dark yet) and I was cat-called more than in and Chicago neighborhood and even followed for a block. Overall though a positive experience. Most of the other guests during the time of my stay were kids. That meant queueing for breakfast, but, much more importantly, quiet at night. Very clean, recently renovated with modern style furnishings,and spacious eating and lounging areas. Shower stall was not able to contain water spray resulting in wet floors after showering. The self regulating turn off system was much too short causing the necessity to constantly re start the shower which I found very annoying. The room needed hooks or hangers for hanging jackets or clothes. The lockable lockers were very spacious and handy for safe storage of personal items. This was the best!
