It's a pretty decent hostel. I was sweating like crazy when I was there but then again temperatures of 30 degrees aren't normal in London. The only annoying thing was that there is no elevator and I was on third floor and the showers in the basement... Michiel, from Netherlands ~ 29th May 2012

You definitely get what you pay for: the rooms are crowded and badly ventilated, the beds stacked 3 high and I found them quite short (even though I'm not tall), the showers are a joke (temp not adjustable), the breakfast is just sad. It's also really noisy till long after midnight. But then again, the location is great, it's close to a Tube stop and it's cheap, so I can't really complain too much. It's ok-ish for short stays. Hostel muito bem localizado,atras da estação do metro Russel Square,porém é muito movimentado,com várias turmas escolares,entra e sai a noite inteiro,e como todo o piso é de madeira,é raro conseguir dormir,quem gosta do agito,este é um dos lugares para ficar,o café é pao,manteiga,café com leite,cozinha ok. We had to move from room because there was an ant invasion in our room. Staff was not animate about it. When we were changed to the new room, the room was filled with garbage, inspite of the hostel's policy of no food or beverage in the rooms. When we confronted the manager about this, we had no response. Further to that, the noise hours were not respected at all. Let's just say you get what you pay for. The biggest issue for me was that the rooms I stayed in were very warm during the night and poor ventilation. Also there were little space in the rooms for suitcases etc. And earplugs are a necessity! this building is not exactly soundproof! If you are longer than, let say 170cm, you most definitely will notice that the beds are a bit short... but they do have curtains which is great! gives you a bit more privacy. We had a mouse in our room. The showers in the cellar for the whole hostel are quite poor and not enough. Breakfast until 9.30 am is too short, the staff began to clean the kitchen exactly at 9.30, so we prefered to have breakfast in another location. We had no possibility to hang up our clothes in our room or to put things on a shelf. If I recommended this location to others, than only for one or two days.
