I stayed in the female dorm room, and it was clean with great big windows for light. Downside being the noise let in through those windows... Very loud. But it was a great hostel! The staff were awesome, the breakfast was outstanding and the location was right by everything. The restaurant/bar attached had a wonderful atmosphere, it was the only place i found wifi, but it was fine. Also had lockers to store stuff even before or after checkout that seemed very secure. Great place.Right in the middle of the red light district, but also near more normal parts of town.Can smoke in the bar downstairs.Towel and soap provided.Bathroom was pretty clean, but the floor seemed a little dirty.The room itself was nice enough.Only disappointment was that one of our roommates who didn't speak a word of English kind of just slept in a bed all day and diarrhead in a bathroom all night.Would recommend this hostel. We had a great weekend in Amsterdam and The Christopher's has done his bit to ensure it. The location could'nt be better - right in the heart of the 'Centrum' and very close to the Central Station. The Winston is a great hostel, with a good location to both see the city and have fun in the evening. I also really liked the bar area downstairs where you can meet other people. But in my room (mixed dorm, 6 people)the WHOLE bathroom ceiling was moldy, which is gross and unhealthy. They should fix that asap.
