Though the pub was adequate and the guy that usually works there is nice, this hostel was the worst I've ever stayed in. The rooms are too small and dirty- my room had mold all over the walls! The bathrooms are a disgrace and there is no way to lock up your stuff except for a very small locker in a common area. There is a punch code lock to get into to eat hostel area from the pub, but it was broken the whole time I was there so there was really nothing to keep people out. Breakfast was toast. This hostel probably had the best vibes and had a kitchen! Everyone there, guests, staff, etc. were super nice, fun, and helpful. The pub downstairs doesn't get a lot of non-hostel users, but that doesn't matter because all the guests and staff were amazing!Bit far away from the center of London, but there is public transportation.I love this hostel and would recommend it to any who wants to stay at an awesome hostel with awesome people! Too crowded! 9 people in such a small room leaves no room to maneuver at all. Additionally, the beds were some of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on in my life. This place felt like someone had read that a hostel was a good way to make money and decided to try it out. The staff was friendly but the "pub" served no food and closed at 11 so the only place to spend time was a tiny, uncomfortable TV room. Jaq, from USA ~ 31st Mar 2013

I enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were clean, neat and warm. There is central heating, a kitchen and a living room The breakfast was excellent, from toast to boiled eggs to choose from. The staff was great and the bathrooms just needed a little touch. To get to there you have to change two underground lines and one bus but it takes about half an hour from the center. But what do people even expect? we got what we paid for AND more.and i would definitely come here again :) sara, from Croatia ~ 10th Feb 2013

Loved the staff and building. Easy walk to buses, but felt a little unsafe at night since I was traveling alone and I felt strange vibes the whole night. Showers were warm but sink to brush up was cold. Other travelers seemed to enjoy the common rooms/bar, but I wasnt there long enough to experience those areas, although I did like the music and tv in the bar as I passed through. Beds were ok. Traveled in mid Jan and was very warm. Computer cafe across the street next to a good burger place. Julie, from USA ~ 23rd Jan 2013

Everything was nice, but they should tidy their kitchen more often (it was quite smelly, old food smell) and wash their cupboards. Breakfast was the same all the time, they should purchase a nice coffee machine, they are not expensive nowadays, it's a good investment which will help them to have more positive reviews. People who stayed at the hostel were friendly and it was fun to spend time with them and talk about our countries. Dinara, from Russia ~ 8th Jan 2013

I enjoyed staying at Monkeys in the Trees! It was my first time in London so I didn't know what to expect. I arrived early on Christmas Day (I didn't realize check-in was at 2pm), but the staff was kind enough to let me leave my bags there and hang out downstairs once they opened. The pub downstairs was very homey, felt like being in a large living room of sorts. There's free wi-fi and plenty of places to plug in a laptop or phone to work.Very friendly staff and overall good experience. By far the nicest hostel I've stayed at in London.More like a large shared house than a hostel, real homely feel to the place.Really cool bar & common room to relax and meet fellow travellers from all over the world. Location may be off the beaten path but then again some of the best restaurants are located down hidden side streets and maybe the same goes for hostels. Daniel, from Ireland ~ 25th Sep 2012
