The Pontiac Hotel in Dublin, Amerika

I chose 1 room for 4 people on the website, it told me it would be $60, I got there and they said they had 2 rooms reserved and it would be $116.00.They let us stay in 1 room but charged us an extra $10.00 per person for having 4 people in 1 room.Poor website advertising/execution, poor on-site management decision.Clean the mildew on your bathroom shower celings, it's gross!

As the site clearly says when you made the reservation, you reserved two rooms. Reserving for four people equals two rooms, at 2 people per room. This is marked in your confirmation email. As for the mildew in one of our showers, thank you for your feedback and that has since been recitified.

My main complaints with staying at this hostel were that my room reeked of stale cigarette smoke. I was told by the staff member who checked me in that it was a non smoking room but obviously someone had been smoking in there in the past...a lot and for a long time. My other complaint is that the hostel is located in a pretty sketchy part of town. I felt safe going to and from the location in the daytime but dreaded coming back and walking through the neighborhood at night. Andrea, from USA ~ 24th May 2012

Stayed here a couple of nights in AUG '11.Not the most exciting or "communal" place to hostel at, but $50 a night for a private room is reason enough to go back. The help weren't trying to be my BFF but they were courteous and helpful overall.The place was clean (although my room did smell like old smoke) and there were plenty of bathrooms on my floor.Some serious schizo/crackhead action lining 6th Street though.Seems more seedy than dangerous, but keep that in mind.There is an excellent cafe Spero, from USA ~ 27th Aug 2011
