I choose to stay at New College residence because it was inexpensive and right on campus. I'd say it was pretty low quality for a dorm: I've stayed in dorms in Europe, North America, and Australia, and most have been more comfortable than New College residence. Some specific things that could be improved: the ventilation system and the doors are quite noisy making it difficult to sleep. This is great value for money and the staff is excellent and very friendly and helpful.The location and access to the University campus facilities are unexpected advantages. I would definitely recommend the New College Residences to just about any traveler looking for a cheap/clean/convenient place to stay it. It may not have some of the fancy extras (like tours,etc) that some of the other hostels did and if that is what you want, you may want to look elsewhere. I, however, had no problems with my trip. Even though it wasn't right in the center of Toronto,it gave me an excuse to check out the rest of the city and get some exercise. Definitely give this place a try. Danielle, from USA ~ 18th Jun 2011

This residence is a little worn down and the washrooms are not particularly shiny but for the money it is probably one of the better choices in Toronto. The reception staff was very kind and helpful. The sizzling sound of the airconditioning (which could not be turned off or modified in any way) was however a little bit annoying. The rooms are spacious and the available internet is good (if you bring your own ethernet-cable). The connection to downtown (public transportation) is very good. Fabian, from Germany ~ 19th Jun 2011

A nice place to stay some days, the internet connection is made by cable in the rooms, don't forget yours!! There is NO wifi! Kitchen smells bad. In july is quite as you are the single host.Washroom is clean and private. I would recommend it! Nelson Mari, from Brazil ~ 12th Jun 2011
