The hostel was in a great downtown location central to everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the walls were thin so you could hear everything in the building. Bring earplugs and this is a great hostel Ken, from USA ~ 10th Aug 2011

For a large hostel in the city, I liked Wellywood's. Despite its size, the kitchen was never overly packed and there were plenty of couches to sit in the common area. Little added touches, such as pictures and mirrors in the hallway added to its look. The staff were beyond friendly, helping straight away with (minor) issues and sorting out ferry/bus schedules and bookings. Really, my only complaint is the internet it's great that it's free, but gets really bogged down and slow at peak time Sonja, from Canada ~ 22nd Mar 2012

Wellywood Backpackers is located pretty much in the heart of Downtown Wellington, within walking distance to groceries, some crucial bus stops, and bars. Internet and a kitchen are provided for free upstairs, as well as entertainment rooms. In general, a fantastic hostel. Matthew, from Canada ~ 29th Sep 2011
