I think it was quite pricey for a hostel, considering there are a lot of motels around that are similarly priced, where you would get your own TV, microwave, and kettle and things, but it has a lot of character, lots of fun people around, a shared kitchen area where you can cook your own meals, and a very social kind of atmosphere. having said that though, we had someone in the room next to us that thought it would be very funny to open their door in the middle of the night, scream into the h

very clean hostel,nice homely feel as it's not too big. cosy rooms, flat beds (no bunks!), excellent facilities, reasonable rates.

Had a really great time and staff were really friendly, always a smile and a hello which is nice! Kitchen is amazing and you have plenty of space to cook or wash etc..Had a great time there. Would go back there if i am to go back to Rotorua!
