It was clean and nice hostel. They were very busy so it took a long time to get checked in and pay. The showers were hot and there were DVDs to watch in the common room. The location is right next to the metro station, making it easy to get to.

Great location, only 2 years old. Very excellent value. Only complaint is that it is very noisy at night. The staff are all very young and like to party and play loud music or loud TV while you try to sleep. As long as you have ear plugs, it really is a great place to stay.

I chose this hostel based on other people's comment that it was quiet and peaceful, well maybe I stayed over the weekend so it was incredible noisy - not only within the hostel but also noise from the street. Although the hostel is located across from Bellas Artes metro station, there is nothing much around the vicinity. The positives are a very clean and new bathroom with hot water. You have to pay to use the internet there.
Hello Ernestine
I am really sorry about the noise at our hostel that night you stayed here.
However, I would like to tell you about the surrondings. The hostel is located a block away from 2 of the most important museums of the city (Bellas Artes Museum and Contemporary art museum), a block away from parque forestal, a block away from the well-known coffe street Jose Miguel de la Barra, 5 minutes walking distance from the quiet and nice restaurant and artistic area Lastarria neighborhood, 15 minutes walking distance from Bellavista neighborhood (One of the most popular night life neighborhoods in our city and where 7 of the best restaurants of the area are located) 4 blocks away from the downtown area of the city, 4 blocks away from plaza de armas (which includes the Cathedral, post office, Pedro de Valdivia monument, the city hall of Santiago, and the most historical places of the Santiago and just a few minutes away from restaurants (sushi, japanease, chinease, italian, french, chilean argentinian, corean, spanish and a lot other kinds of food), coffe places, internet places, bars, clubs, pizza places, etc. Our hostel is actually loved by our guests by its location.
We have every saturday (as well as the other days of the week) different activities at our hostel. One of them is the big ASADO that we have on saturday nights. Last saturday we had more than 30 people at our roof-top enjoying our Asado. On saturdays it gets a little bit noisy, which stops when everyone takes off to go clubbing at 1 oclock in the morning or just go down to the lobby to hang out with the new friends they've made.
I am really sorry about your bad sleep, specially because you had to get up early next morning.
On saturdays and Fridays nights, it gets a little bit noisy outside the hostel, since everyone goes out. This noise is nothing compared to the downtown areas or the places near the Alameda (main avenue of the city) Not to mention that busses run a block away from our hostel and cannot get closer to our street, so you can barely hear them as they go by. During the week, it is very quiet and peacefull from monday through Thrusday. It is very hard to see cars outside the building running on those days of the week.
I am sorry you didn't know about this, but I am sure this information will be usefull to other guests and for you when you come back to Santiago!
Best regards,
Andes Hostel staff

Excellent hostel, location, staff, and breakfast. The pool table and rooftop terrace were great places to spend some time!
