First off the location could not have been better its right where you want to be when your in Heidelberg. Second overall its just what you should expect from a hosltel is this price range. Its a perfect place if you just need a place to crash.

really the only hostel in old heidelburg. so that alone makes it pretty good. not that social, but the restaurant and bar are good. odd hours. can check in till 2. and not open till 11. but better location than the HI. i stay there again if i was in heidelburg

the dorm is separated from the front dest (it is in a restaurant separated from the appartment of dorm), and the person in the front desk doesn't provide any maps or any other documents for travelling. any sound from dorms next door could be clearly heard. also note that for the first day the sheet costs 3 EXTRA euros from the price you reserved for the bed.
