Tiny room, no space even for a chair; n-suite means: wash basin and shower, toilet is common use, at the corridor. Our room was dirty when we arrived. We had to go around for 2 hours to wait while they "clean it" (change the bed clothes and clean the wash basin and shower). Their concept of "daily cleaning of your room" is: "take away the garbage of the basket", that's all... no new sheets, no soil sweeping or washing... Our room: 5th floor, no elevator... good for keep yourself on fit, but not very nice to pull up your luggage through those small steps up to the 5th floor; or going upstairs after a whole day walking the streets of Paris. Better ask for rooms from 1 to 6 (1st and 2nd floor). VERY NOISY: there is a fire station just in front of the hotel and the sirens of the fire trucks and ambulances were ringing from very early in the morning... looked like all Paris was on fire... windows did not silence that horrible sound at all. Walls are made of paper, you can hear everything from other rooms or from the corridor. Small curtain that didn't cover all the window so at the sunrising the whole room was on light (just in case you didn't wake up with the noise of the firemen sirens). No lockers, only a common room downstairs the reception-bar to leave your luggage. The staff were nice. It's only 40m from Jaures metro station.

From what I've heard about hostels in Paris, this is probably one of the best. It was cleaned everyday, had a nice kitchen, and a good location. It was right next to a metro stop. The biggest problem we encountered was the stairs. We had a room on the top floor, so it took a good 10 minutes to walk to it every night. The staff was very nice and helpful, but at night when the bar is busy it's harder to do things at the desk. One of the workers, Karen, puts on walking tours for really cheap. They're fun and totally worth it.

The staff could be a bit annoying in that they were a little forward and constantly made jokes that WERE NOT FUNNY, but they were nice anyways and great to sleep on the floor so they can open the door for you @ 5 AM. The decor of the hostel was a little gross [deep lavender and black/futuristic vibe] and we thought our 3 stacked/shaky bunk beds were going to crash aka sandwiching/killing our friend but luckily that didn't happen. the location makes it a bit far by metro, but pretty convenient if you're taking taxis. also, it's CHEAP and everyone speaks great english, and there are good showers in the rooms.

Very good value for money, room was small but clean and warm and the shower worked well, plenty hot water! Bar was a good laugh we had a good first night and it didn't disturb us when we went to bed earlier. Good locaion, really enjoyed our stay, Thanks!
