The dorm in this place is pretty basic but it's quite clean and good value for $18. The motel rooms are a little knocked about though, and need a little work. The manager is really friendly and helpful, but the rest of the staff seem to have a little trouble running the place without the manager their to help them. The atmosphere is just right for chilling out, and grounds are just beautiful. It's a great place to meet other travellers who just want to sit around and relax.(It's not a party place) When I was there, the rainwater tank ran dry and we were without running water for a couple of days, which was a pain, so be sure to ask if this problem has been fixed (apparently it's happened a couple of times) before checking in. (Otherwise just bath in the pool)

The dorm is absoluty a crap... the worst place I have ever seen.... The room with double bed is nice, and u have to share a nice house with the owner.

Got bitten alive by sea lice that were actually in the beds..Were kept awake every night itching.Legs swelled out and went black and blue..Owner at Vakaviti sent us to the doctor,she didnt believe her beds were the problem. When the doc confirmed it was from the beds she said shed compensate us by paying for the doc and taxi to the airport. When we got the airport it was a different story and refused to pay the $60 and paid only $15. Staff were very unhelpfull when it came to booking day trips, told us to ring from the pay ph had to go to Bedarra for any help at all. My bed sheets wern't changed once in the 2 weeks we stayed at Vakiviti. Had to ask for fresh towels and toilet roll. Came home mmost evenings to huge cockroaches and lizards all over our room, not to mention the mozzies.. Overall Vakiviti is poorly managed and run.
