CAT's is clean, fun, safe, super convenient... overall really great! I had never stayed in a hostel before and was a little scared at first but I stayed for 12 nights and never had a problem. THe doors can be tricky to open at first but after two days I was a pro. 10 euro deposit for keys 5 euro deposit for towels and if you like to go out don't plan on sleeping because you probably won't get home until 630 am...I advise you just stay up for free breakfast at 8. NO need to take the metro you can walk pretty much anywhere you would want to go in madrid. oh and the rooms are cleaned daily. the staff is nice and security is tight, don't plan on bringing back anyone to hook up that's not staying in the hostel and don't try to hook up in the bathrooms because andres will see you and he doesn't want to have to kick you out.

Great location and lovely setting but your staff suck- if you don't wanna work there get another job or drop the attitude. Definitely somewhere i won't be returning cos I hate rude people.

Great hostel to meet people. Everyone hung out in the bar downstairs and you could easily go up to people and end up spending the rest of your night with them. the bar picks up quite a bit at night,and if you´re running on a budget, you won´t regret not going out if you´re at the party downstairs. Staff is very strict on sound after a certain point at night so you´ll be able to sleep while the party continues downstairs but don´t expect to bring it back to your room later. the inner patio is a beautiful example of the mudejar style and makes you feel like you´re in the alcazar not a hostel.
