When we arrived there was anybody on charge , even though we have previously called to arrenge it. The place was pretty scarying: full of dusk, lots of birds in cages, candles and religious statues everywhere, Also, the hostel is up a hill, in the middle of the road, but no town nearby. We waited ther for more than half an hour and finally decided to go to another hostel. We have been staying at youth hostels around Europe for many years and this is, with no doubt, the worse ever.

The accomodation has changed little since it was an orphanage (which closed 15 years ago). It has an amazing entrance hall and a balcony with great views, but the dormitories, bathrooms and dining room are very bleak - towels, sheets etc are very badly worn (although they appeared to be clean); the rooms are lit with bare light bulbs hanging from the ceiling; only one shower worked and that not very well. Although it was cheap I couldn\'t really recommend it.

Staff is nice and kind.Place has a good atomospher with old antiques. It's just 10 min walk from ferry port and near bus stop. shower room is bit old and not hot enough. Breakfast is not good. Good value for price.
