O Annie's Place Adelaide

Adelaide's most popular hostel is a beautiful, 140 year old building that has a warm, friendly mix of old world charm and modern funky vibes located on the Paris end of town just 3 blocks from the GPO City Center.
All rooms are large with high ceilings and most rooms have ensuite bathrooms, some with baths. All rooms have televisions and are air conditioned and heated for your comfort. Dorms are roomy and spacious with new inner sprung mattresses and bedding supplied. The doubles/twins are boutique hotel standard with king size beds, fresh towels, linen, pillows and duvets provided.
Reception is open from 8 am until 8 pm and the in-house travel agency boasts some of the best travel deals in town, including a five day Adelaide to Alice Springs with Ayers Rock Package for only $470 which can only be booked at this hostel.
Free Breakfast is provided every morning in the beautiful, rustic kitchen which is accessible 24 hours a day, and opens to a courtyard which becomes the social hub of this friendly place. Solo travelers especially will find Annie's Place the easiest place to meet other like minded travelers.
Being 137 years old the rooms are gorgeous. Smooth brick walls leading up to big high ceilings. Each room has individual features such as room 5 with its rustic window and fireplace, rooms 2, 14, and 15 boasts polished floorboards , room 12 has the stained glass butterfly window in the bathroom, rooms 9,12,13, and 14 bathrooms have a bath with full length mirror. Love it - you will.
They are all air-conditioned and heated for comfort, all have televisions, and each room boasts coded doors means greater security for you without the hassle of key deposit. Nice.
Dorm Beds
The dorms are or 6 bed with Two 10 bed for tour groups. Some are en-suited but otherwise the bathroom is next door to room. full bedding is included including Quilts. The rooms are large so there is somewhere to play with your pack.
Doubles or twins
Today more couples are choosing hostels over motels. But they still want a nice room. With that in mind when we renovated we put in brand new
En-suited bathrooms. These are all beautiful, and half have baths. It makes our doubles something special.
All have all bed side lamps, televisions, and bedding is included which is towels, cozy Quilts, and percale sheets.
Travelers fall in love with our doubles and you will too.
The hostel boasts an inviting beautiful communal kitchen with a handsome chunky wood preparation table. There are storage shelves for all your food, and big commercial fridges to keep anything cool. To match the lifestyles of our guests it's open 24 hrs a day.

Rooms nice and clean but there is a lot that can be improved, firstly there is no air con (despite saying there is) also the tv in our room had no remote, the over the bed lights didn\'t work, and most of the rooms back on to the outdoor area so it\'s very very noisy until people go to bed. Although there a signs telling people to be quiet. The \'free wi-fi\' is infact Internode- available throughout the CBD. It doesnt work in the rooms, and is very weak within the hostel itself, I actually ha Nyree, from England ~ 19th Feb 2012
