Forget the Hem Hotel/Hem Budget Hotel in Amsterdam – Our room was disgusting – it smelt of urine, was unclean and to top it off our room was broken into (No physical signs of break-in so an inside job...?) The Hem Hotel did absolutely nothing to help us – they were not interested – they would not call the Police, told us they did not even have their phone number and left us with no alternative but pay for a taxi to take us to the Police Station.
