Castagni d'Oro is a beautiful and original 350 year old Tuscan village house in a pretty, tranquil hill-top village with spectacular panoramic views of high mountains, deep lush valleys and tiny, scattered mountain villages.
This homely English family-run B&B is situated in the gorgeous little village of Brandeglio, about 25 miles north of Lucca and sits high above the ancient thermal spa town of Bagni di Lucca in the green but mountainous Garfagnana National Park.
The village is refreshingly peaceful while only 15 minutes from Bagni di Lucca and 40 minutes from Lucca, and is a quiet, secluded haven after a busy day of sightseeing in Florence and Pisa, swimming in the sea at Viareggio, or even skiing at Abetone, Tuscany�s premier ski resort.
Castagni d�Oro has 2 bright and comfortable guestrooms with modern en-suite bathrooms with showers, hair-dryers and complimentary toiletries.
Both rooms also have coffee and tea making facilities with biscuits, free Wi-Fi and LCD TVs with full British satellite reception, o Italiano.
After a quiet and restful night, Louise and Adrian will serve you a generous continental breakfast and a bottomless coffee or tea pot in the dining room or maybe outside on the sunny terrace.
In addition to the terrace with table and chairs, there is also a level lawned garden, ideal for sunbathing or enjoying a welcome cool drink under the trees, with a wonderful view across to the mountains.
Children are welcome, we have a cot, highchair and 2 fold-out beds available. Children under 9 stay for free and there are other reduced child rates. Pets can also be considered, although we do have 2 old cats.
Smoking is only allowed outside, it's the law!
We regret that we can only accept credit cards via Paypal.
Parking is in our own private driveway and there is a secure garage for motorbikes, cycles and ski equipment.
We can provide packed lunches and evening meals on request, or guests can bring their own food to eat here using our plates and cutlery..
We strive to be as flexible as possible with guests' requirements, such as early or late arrivals and departures, keys to rooms and outside doors, and providing laundry and car-lift services. We speak some Italian and have lots of information regarding where to go and what to see.
