Our Tropicana Guesthouse, is located in Barra de Sao Joao, on the Brazilian sun coast near Buzios, just 174km from the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Here in Barra de Sao Joao guests can enjoy a small colonial town with a lovely riverside, the beach, the mountains and waterfalls right on our door step.Staying here you can enjoy a range of activities from boat trips on the river to jungle tours in the rainforest. Not far from the Tropicana Guesthouse we have the only volcano in Brazil.

Only a step from the garden door and you are right on the beach. Nothing blocks your view to the islands as far as Buzios. The beautiful plants on the beach are not only beautiful, according to season as they are full of flowers but they guard the beach from erosion and are protected.

Tropicana Guesthouse offers beautiful seaviews from all 12 guestrooms. Here at the Tropicana Guesthouse you may be far from home but you can relax in the hammock, enjoy Brazilian music or make some trips in surrounding areas and experience the true Brazillian countryside.
