We're right in central Edinburgh, with a beautiful view of the castle and a late-opening bar!

Boasting superb views of Edinburgh Castle, Caledonian Backpackers is perfectly located within walking distance of the main bus and train stations and with an airport bus stop only a few steps away. Our location between the old and the new towns means that guests are within walking distance not only of Edinburgh's main tourist attractions, but also all the best shops, restaurants, pubs and clubs.

We are a colourful property with dormitories and private rooms, and we welcome long and short-term stays. Facilities on offer include TV rooms, kitchens, Internet and Wi-Fi, beanbag cinema room, vending machines, free book swap, laundry services and a licensed bar which offers cheap drinks, live music, Wii and pool until the early morning. We have a safe at reception as well if you'd like to store your passport or laptop. You're welcome to leave your luggage in our storage room after check-out while you wait for your flight/bus/train.

We have both mixed and female-only dorms. Our rooms feature keycards for extra security, as well as in-room lockers - if you forget your own padlock, we sell them at reception, too. Linen and breakfast are included in the rates. For you late sleepers, we serve breakfast until noon!

We operate a 24-hour reception and we do not have a curfew. Check-out: 12:00 (midday). Please note: - We do not accept guests under the age of 18. - We are a non-smoking property. - Photographic identification must be presented at check-in. - We do not accept stag/hen parties, sorry.
