Located in a heritage building within the heart of the city, Auberge L'Apero, is a European-style hostel in North America's most European city, Montreal. Quiet, friendly, and unassuming, L'Apero offers many extra amenities that visitors enjoy immensely.
Small in size, only 30 beds, Auberge L'Apero offers a cozy, personalized, atmosphere with all the usual amenities, and some nice surprises. Located on Mackay Street, a quiet side street in the city's downtown core, we are close to the subway, steps from a bike path and surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and shopping.
The rooms are large and bright with hardwood floors and some interior brick walls that add an air of coziness. Our beds are very comfortable, with comforters instead of blankets and good pillows. The kitchen is always open and you can have your complimentary breakfast when you want it, not on any set schedule. The same for hot showers, there is no set schedule. Most importantly, there is no curfew so if you like, you can explore the city's famous (and fabulous!) nightlife to your heart's content.
What sets Auberge L'Apero apart from other hostels is our attention to detail. We treat you as guests, not passers-through, and you will find our personalized service not unlike the service you would find in a hotel. Our clientele is friendly and our atmosphere is relaxed and calm.
Where we are is just as important as what we are. L'Apero is within walking distance of many of Montreal's attractions including Old Montreal, Chinatown, the museums of Natural History, Fine Arts, Contemporary Art, Montreal History, and Architecture; and our famous Underground City. We are only a block from the Metro, the city's fast, clean subway system that can whisk you anywhere that is too far to walk, from the Casino on Ile Notre Dame to the boutiques and restaurants of the storied Plateau Mont-Royal. We are just a 15 minutes bus ride from Mount-Royal, Montreal's largest urban park, that offers seasonal sports like cycling, hiking, bird watching, cross-country skiing, toboganning, and snowshoeing.
Although we accept credit cards (Visa & Mastercard), please note they have an associated handling fee of 2,5%.

As far as I saw, there was only one employee, good guy, but nearly never there. So if you don\'t stay all day, then you can forget about showering. One of the showers are locating within the sleeping area, which residents happily use, in the middle of the night, since egocentrism is their (though I don\'t understand why, especially compared with the better hostels from, fi, HI hostels). Magnificent. Super helpful staff and facilities were really really clean and bright all the time. Positive vibes and a really chilled out place to stay. Bit further from some things (e.g. Old Montreal) but in an exciting part of town nonetheless. All in all an awesome place that is superbly priced. Spencer, from New Zealand ~ 3rd May 2012
