A quiet, ample and comfortable hostel in the Oaxacan historic district, 'Hostal del Carmen' has the right accommodation at the right price for everybody, from the long-term businessman to the casual backpacker!
Hostal del Carmen is run from a historic building in an unbeatable location, close to all major monuments, NGO's and a short walk from the Zócalo. We offer a wide variety of accommodations in our ten rooms, from king-size beds to bunks, distributed in two floors with many common areas. Each floor has a shared bathroom and a set of three shower stalls. We have an operating restaurant, bakery, crêperie, cibercafé and a rooftop terrace with some of the best views of the historic district. Wireless internet is available free of charge for all hosts!
Unless specified, doors are closed at 11pm. Payments need to be made in advance. If guests damage anything at the facilities, they shall be charged accordingly for the subsequent replacement of repair of such damages.

Hostel Plaza del Carmen is a great choice for those who want a central hostel full of super friendly staff who will do almost anything to make your stay more enjoyable. Looking beyond some of the no frills let downs this is the perfect place for anyone who wants to discover Oaxaca's culture but not be kept awake all night by loud parties nor have to travel super far everyday in order to get to the central sights.
