O Red Lantern House

Red Lantern House is a family-run hostel, housed in a traditional courtyard house in downtown Beijing. We have a range of private and dormitory accommodation in four separate buildings located on the same street. Despite the age of our properties, we offer all the comforts and conveniences of a modern home.
We are located in the largest HuTong preservation area in downtown Beijing, once home to royalty and nobility, close to BeiHai Park, and a short stroll from Lotus Lane, an area popular for its nightlife. There are many shops, restaurants and other amenities in the vicinity of the hostel.
We offer a number of onsite facilities, including bicycle hire, laundry, CD burning, hairdryers and travel assistance, including tours to destinations such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. We have a restaurant and a communal area with drinks, internet access and a DVD player.
Airport transfers are available.

This is not really a hostel, so if you\'re looking for the hostel atmosphere don\'t go here (I\'m talking about the wings, I don\'t know about the main building).. But as a hotel/guesthouse it\'s just really good! The rooms are very clean and quite big. The location is in a hutong, but with a big shopping street around the corner. It\'s very good and a nice neigbourhood, but quite far from most sights.. I saw one staff member that spoke very good english, but the other ones don\'t speak!
