Amsterdam Hostel is located just three blocks away from Union Square in the heart of San Francisco, close to the city's best shops, restaurants and bars. We are also just seconds away from the famous cable cars, the theatre district and Chinatown.
We have a range of private rooms and dormitories, all with en-suite bathrooms. We also have a large number of common areas including a kitchen, a dining room, a lounge and a terrace. Free waffles are on offer for breakfast and we organise activities such as movie nights and pub crawls.
Other facilities at the hostel include an internet café, bicycle rental and luggage storage. Linen is provided.
Weekly and monthly discounted rooms available. All inquires must be directed to the Manager.

- Dormitories are available for young people and students only; an international passport or out of state student ID is required, along with a travel itinerary.
- Rates shown do not include taxes.
- Please inform us of any change to your expected arrival time.
We have a $50 credit card minimum for dorm rooms and $100 minimum for private.

I don\'t understand what all the negative reviews were about... the two rooms i stayed in were fine! I wasn\'t at the hostel much besides to sleep, but the hostel was exactly what I would expect from a hostel... clean, laid-back, communal space/kitchen... it was a fine place to stay. We were quite disappointed about the treatment that we received at the Amsterdam Hostel. In three days we had to change three rooms. A private room had broken shower and the heater warming the room as a greenhouse. Then we had to move on a 6-bed room whereas we were supposed to be on a 4-bed one. For all these inconveniences any excuse or refunding came spontaneously from the hostel. Ilaria, from Italy ~ 23rd May 2012
