I had a blast @ Marquette House in New Orleans. I have been visiting New Orleans every year for Jazz Fest for the past several years and I always had a friend to travel with. But this year I was alone, plus it was too late to book a hotel. So, I started to check every availability and found this hostel in garden district.

It was the most fun experience right beside Jazz Fest. I met many people of all ages from different areas of the world. I listened to their story and their travel info and found it a very positive experience. I usually stay in New Orleans for 1 week but this time I canceled another hotel I booked in the French Quarter and spent that money for one more week in New Orleans.

If I had to choose between a hotel and hostel whenever I travel, I would probably pick a hostel. It was a fun experience even @ age of 52, and I thought being single isn't that bad so why not enjoy it. I am now planning a trip to SF for Jazz Fest in Aug and will be using a hostel again :o) It's gonna be a good one, I just know ...
