Five reasons to visit Miami

With the sun shining 80% of the time, Miami is the hot spot to go if you want a tropical getaway. It gets over 3,200 hours of sunshine a year, making it one of the top places to go if the winter is not your style.

There are lots of great reasons why you should pick this destination over many others in the United States, from food to art and the buzzing nightlife. Here’s five reasons why you should visit Miami right now!

Dive into Miami beach culture

This sunny destination has one of the best white sand beaches in the US. Chuck on a pair of shorts and a top and you’re ready for the day. Make sure you grab your sunscreen, too, because the Miami heat is known to burn easily. The beach is such a fun place to hang out for the day and there’s always lots going on from volleyball to sunbathing and plenty of water sports, too. You can rent a jet ski or boat—and if you are looking for something more active then hire a snorkel and get diving. There’s an abundance of stuff to do on the main beach strip so get there early to set up your ideal spot in the sand.

Witness the art scene

Miami is overflowing with culture, especially its art which is now a major attraction here. Local and international artists are showcased in some of the city’s best museums. Not only can you see amazing masterpieces inside but also outdoors as street art is quickly becoming very popular. You have to witness the Wynwood Walls which is the only outdoor street art park here. There are over 40 murals to see and is absolutely free to enter. You must also make your way to the Art Deco District. There are over 800 structures that date from the 1923-1943, all with historic significance. It is well worth seeing and just another reason why you should come to beautiful Miami.

The buzzing nightlife

If you’re looking for a great place to dance the night away, Miami is the place to be. There is a never-ending amount of clubs and thriving bars that are open until the early morning, making it impossible to have a boring night in. In the summer be sure to check out one of the popular pool parties and festivals that happen in this city. There’s every kind of music you could think of from Latin beats to the most popular house DJs in the world. Some of the most popular clubs you should take a look at are LIV and The Electric Pickle Company. Many famous faces have played at these two venues!

A diverse mix of delicious food

There are over 150 different ethnicities living in Miami which makes it a melting pot for all kinds of cuisine. Cuban-inspired culture is a huge presence here, which means you can easily find a great cup of Cuban coffee to get you ready for the day. There’s a great range of food you can try, from Spanish Tapas to Caribbean jerk chicken and freshly caught seafood; there’s a flavour for everybody. Plus there’s an abundance of food trucks also located here which means you can grab a bite to eat wherever you are in the city. Word on the street is that you must try a frita traditional which is a Cuban version of the American hamburger made with matchstick potatoes, secret sauce and served on famous Cuban bread!

The Florida Keys

If you’re here for more than just a weekend then make sure you go and discover one of the most lovely areas around Miami—the Florida Keys. Only about a two-hour drive away lay the most beautiful little islands you just have to see for yourself. It’s a great day-trip from the bustling city if you want to get away from the wild parties. If you do come to the Florida Keys you have to make it your mission to try the abundance of fresh seafood in the restaurants. Practically everyone that’s eaten there say that it’s the best fish you’ll ever have.
