City Focus: Dublin

Our city focus goes to Dublin, Ireland this week as we take a sneak peek at what’s on offer in the capital of the Emerald Isle. Dublin has long been regarded as an expensive capital city in Europe, however recent economic changes has seen prices come down in some sectors of Dublin and travel is one of them.

There are some great Dublin attractions to choose from and if you want to get a list of some budget tips just watch our ‘5 free things to do in Dublin’ video. Some of the more popular Dublin attractions include the Guinness Storehouse where you can get an insight into how Ireland’s most popular drink is made. You can even enjoy a pint of the black stuff at the end of your tour in the Gravity Bar with some spectacular views of the city of Dublin.

Dublin has a reputation as a good city for nightlife and you will find plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs around the city and its suburbs. Temple Bar is a popular area for tourists to Dublin but if you want to join the locals on a night out then make your way towards Baggot Street, Camden Street, Wexford Street or city neighbourhoods such as Ranelagh or Rathmines. You will also find some great restaurants around these areas as well as in the city centre.

There is also a great choice of places to stay all over Dublin so all you need to do is decide what you want to stay near! Some of our top rated Dublin hostels include Barnacles Temple Bar House, The Times Hostel - College Street or Avalon House.
