Earth hour: do your bit

Earth hour: do your bit

Wherever you find yourself in the world on Saturday March 26th 2011, do your bit for the planet by switching off.

Originating in Sydney in 2007, Earth hour began when 2.2 million people and over 2000 businesses turned off their lights to take a stand against climate change. One year later and earth hour was on the global stage with over 35 countries taking part. Some cities took it to their most iconic landmarks and attractions by turning off the lights on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, in the CN Tower in Toronto, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum.

Last year’s Earth hour was the biggest yet so make sure you get involved in this year’s event by switching off all your lights. You can even go that bit further by turning off any other things that don’t need to be on and consuming electricity for that hour.

Don’t forget – Saturday March 26th 2011 – switch off!
