The coming of summer is an exciting time for all festival goers who love nothing better than to get the wellies and sunglasses on and head for the stages in muddy fields. However, at this time of year you might well think there's a festival drought on. And you'd be right if you were basing your search around Ireland and the UK. However, if you're really missing that festival feeling and you have the time and cash to go further afield then there really is a great selection of festivals on now and over the coming months all over the world.
A quick visit to Montego Bay, Jamaica will see you at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival from January 24th - 30th. This is the Caribbean's top music event in 2010 and the performers and location are both world class.
If rock music is more your thing then maybe you should set your sights on a trip to Bangalore, India on February 20 & 21st. Rock 'n India is back for its third year and is a huge hit on a national and international scene with an electric atmosphere.
And of course you can't have a list of winter festivals without the snow being a factor. 2010 will see the launch of the Big Snow Festival in Arinsal, Vallnord, Andorra that runs from 14th - 21st March. With some world-class slopes in the area, the days are set to be full of some of the world's best boarders showing off their skills! And by night there's plenty of music and partying to be done. So you see, just because its winter it doesn't mean that you can't get your festival fix.
And remember that no matter where you go chasing that winter festival, make sure to check out Hostels.com for some great and cheap accommodation!
