Sydney Festival 2012 Jan 7 - 29

Dating back to 1977, this Sydney Festival is now one of the biggest events of the year in Australia. Taking place over three weeks, the city of Sydney celebrates culture and art through an amazing program of events. You can expect dance, music, multimedia, art and more throughout the 21 days.

Anniversary of Lima's Foundation Jan 18

Every January 18th, Lima celebrates the day it was founded. The day is filled with activities and events such as music, dance, performances and more. The main events take place around the Plaza de Armas, also known as Plaza Mayor. And don’t forget to check out the fireworks at night.

Chinese New Year Jan 23

This day is regarded as China’s most important festival and is also known as ‘Spring Festival’ marking the end of winter. There are plenty of events around China and the world that celebrate this event, many of which will include parades, performances and fireworks.

Australia Day Jan 26

This is the national day of Australia and is celebrated across the country, marked by a whole host of events. Live music, entertainment, fireworks and parties will take place in towns and cities across the country on January 26th.
