Wondering what to do during the month of July? If you find yourself in any of these places don’t miss out on these July events.
Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Denmark: 1st – 10th July
One of the largest musical events in Europe’s jazz scene is the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. This popular festival sees a gathering of everyone from the world of jazz from musicians to trades people to jazz enthusiasts. It’s also a great tourist attraction for those who know little about the jazz world. Throughout the 10 days Copenhagen will play host to around 1000 concerts over 100 venues.
Feria de Julio, Valencia, Spain: 2nd - 26th July
If you are looking for a festival that lasts for most of July then book a stay in Valencia. Feria de Julio – The July Fair – is a month long festival that’s packed full of entertainment and culture. The festival began as a means of enticing the locals to spend more of their summer in Valencia despite the heat. It’s also a huge draw for tourists as there are many concerts and varied entertainment taking place, most of which is outdoors. There are also some traditional aspects to it such as the Battle of Flowers that marks the end of the Feria de Julio.
Bastille Day- France National Holiday: 14th July
Bastille Day is France’s national holiday on July 14th that marks the end of the French monarchy and the beginning of the modern republic. Today, this event is marked with a grand military parade in Paris up the Champs Elysées, festivals and parties. Bastille Day is marked all over France with festive events in many other cities too.
Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival: 22nd – 31st July
The Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival is one of many popular festivals taking place in the Scottish capital over the summer. This musical festival dates back to 1978 when it was set up by the guitarist and banjo-player, Mike Hart. The festival brings some of the world’s greatest jazz and blues artists to Edinburgh with a wide range of ticketed and free concerts taking place all over the city.
