The Monaco Grand Prix or Grand Prix de Monaco is perhaps the most glamorous race on the Formula One calendar. The race in Monaco itself dates back to 1929 and it is also regarded as one of the most prestigious automobile races in the world.
The race itself is staged on the narrow streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine and it is known as one of the most demanding circuits of the Formula One race calendar. The circuit is one of the more unique ones used as it has held the same route every time it has been run. It’s an exciting circuit with narrow roads, tight corners, a tunnel and high elevation at points.
Michael Schumacher holds the fastest lap time at the Monaco Grand Prix with 1:14.439 in 2004 so make sure you keep a close eye on this year’s race to see if anyone can beat the record! The race takes place this year on May 27th and if you find yourself in Monte Carlo for this weekend make sure to get there early for a good vantage point for all 78 laps of the Monaco Grand Prix.
