Wien Modern Oct 28th - Nov 25th
Vienna becomes the centre for contemporary music for four weeks as this annual music festival takes over. Wien Modern 2011 will showcase British music alongside some of Vienna`s most famous composers. This festival takes place across 14 venues around the city and has a great selection of music and shows on offer.
Melbourne Cup Carnival, Australia 29th Oct - 5th Nov
One of the most prestigious racing meets in the world, dating back to 1861 is the Melbourne Cup. Flemington Racecourse is the venue and it will see thousands of race-goers in attendance over the four days.
Guy Fawkes Night, Great Britain 5th Nov
The 5th of November sees an age-old annual tradition celebrated across the UK. Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Bonfire Night is when Great Britain marks the failed attempt of when Guy Fawkes and others tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605. Today it is marked with community bonfires, firework displays and lots of sweet treats.

This beautiful festival takes place every year for the November full moon. The celebrations take place in the evening when people make their way towards the city canals and send small rafts covered in flowers and candles floating down stream.

If you like music, theatre, dance and more artistic events, then make your way to Prague for Alternativa. This festival celebrates all things alternative in the arts from all over the world. Definitely worth checking out some shows at this if you find yourself in Prague during these dates.
