Free things to do in Europe: Munich, Germany

If you are in Munich, Germany and are looking for something free to do then catch the 'Glockenspiel' show. Every day in the cities central Marienplatz square you will find many tourists looking up as they check out one of Munich’s popular attractions. You will find the chiming clock that is the Glockenspiel on the New Town Hall Building and it was added to this in the early 1900s.

Every day at 11am and midday the Glockenspiel puts on a 15 minute show which tells the tale of a royal wedding. The characters of the Glockenspiel act out the wedding as well as a jousting tournament and ritual dancing, all of which are a big part of Munich’s folklore.
