Our Hostels.com facebook question this week was directed at all our romantic travellers. We asked ‘If you had to choose, what would you say is the most romantic place you have ever visited? Paris perhaps or maybe somewhere less obvious?’ As always we got a great response from our well travelled and also very romantic facebook fans. Here’s what was suggested.
Melanie Volk was first in with Byron Bay, Australia. Eva Fu recommends Southern France for a romantic setting, especially when you stay in a nice country style hostel around the area of Avignon. From here she recommends you drive to visit the many charming towns in the region.
Kurt Raimondi thinks it is impossible to choose just one destination for a romantic vacation. He suggests that Paris and Venice are a given, but you should also try Paraty in Brazil, Santorini in Greece, Tallinn in Estonia, Verona in Italy or Inverness in Scotland. All great suggestions Kurt.
Patricia Carr reckons Nice, France is very romantic and Mathilde le Magueresse suggests a little town in Tuscany near Florence. Vítězslav Křikava Augustus suggests Pompeii or Cinque Terre.
Sylvie Lariviere recommends Barcelona and suggests many things to do in the city such as walking around the port and visiting the Sagrada Família.
Shellie Brickley has tried and tested Bath in England and tells us that it is a beautiful and historic city place as well as being the most romantic place she has ever visited. However, Shellie makes a good point that to make a place romantic you also need the right company!
If you have any more suggestions for a romantic destination then leave a comment below. And thanks to all our facebook fans for their great suggestions.
