Travel Tip: Explore the San Francisco neighbourhoods
The city of San Francisco is a beautiful part of the world to visit at any time of year due to its warm Californian climate. It’s also a great city to visit as there’s lots to see and do all over the city and its suburbs.
Our top tip for San Francisco will get you outside and it won’t cost you anything to do it either! San Francisco has some great neighbourhoods across the city and each one possesses its very own traits and charms. You could spend hours exploring each neighbourhood and it makes for a great alternative to hanging out in the city centre.
One San Francisco neighbourhood that is worth a visit during your trip is Chinatown. A lot of big cities around the world have their own Chinatowns today, however once upon recent times San Francisco’s Chinatown was the biggest in North America. It is worth checking out to sample some great Chinese food or even just to stroll around the stores and markets.
Haight-Ashbury is also another neighbourhood that is a must see. This is also known as ‘The Haight’ and it was the epicentre of San Francisco’s hippy movement in the 1960s. Today it is regarded as the alternative neighbourhood of the city that’s home to really nice bars and stores.
Other neighbourhoods worth checking out in San Francisco include The Mission district for nightlife. There’s also North Beach where you will find the Italian district of San Francisco, and after all that neighbourhood exploring you can relax in one of the many great Italian eateries and sample some amazing cuisine.
