Travel Tip: New York`s Staten Island Ferry
New York is one the USA’s most popular destinations all year round and the reason for this is that the city is packed full of great attractions. However, being a tourist in New York can be expensive, especially if you want to see the best of the city’s top attractions.
So for this week’s travel tip on Hostels.com we’re recommending you make the most of the free attractions on offer in the Big Apple – you will be surprised by how many great free things there are to do in New York City. Our pick for this week is to take a trip on the Staten Island Ferry.
New York’s Staten Island Ferry is a free ferry that is also one of the city’s oldest means of transport. You can catch the Staten Island Ferry from the bottom of Manhattan, which you can get to by taking the subway to South Ferry. The trip takes about 25 minutes over to Staten Island and along the way you can take in some amazing views of the city skyline as well as great views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The ferry brings you to St George’s Terminal on Staten Island and from there you can explore this part of New York or get the next ferry back for free to Manhattan.
So for your next visit to New York make your way to the Staten Island Ferry and enjoy this free ferry ride and breathtaking views.
