A Berlin hostel could be a good base for the international beer festival
The action takes place from August 6th to the 8th and having a hostel in Berlin might be a wise idea for somewhere to crawl back to after consuming all that alcohol.
Individuals travelling alone may be able to make new companions at the event as its motto is "Beer Tightens the Bonds of Friendship".
According to the Association of Private German Breweries, there is expected to be around 800,000 visitors so it could be a good idea to reserve a Berlin hostel as soon as possible.
There will be 300 breweries from 86 countries expected to attend the event and offer around 2,000 beer specialities along the 2.2km beer mile.
This stretch of road runs along Karl Marx Allee, between the Strausberger Platz and Frankfurter Tor.
And 2010 will see the first non-European regional representative at the beer mile with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam celebrating its 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations, as well as Germany.
But those who want to be entertained and inebriated at the same time will be able to check out a range of music and dance events taking place, while the whole extravaganza is free to attend, which might delight travellers on a tight budget.
Moreover, individuals who would like a taste of the US while staying at a cheap hostel in Berlin could visit the German-American Volksfest which ends on August 15th and will feature more than 100 attractions.
