Bob Dylan on Canvas is to be put on display at the Halcyon Gallery in Mayfair between February 13th and April 10th and features works that are based on sketches that the great one made while on the road between 1989 and 1992.
Of his pictures, Dylan said: "I'm not trying to make social comment or fulfil somebody's vision and I can find subject matter anywhere," adding, "I just draw what's interesting to me and then I paint it. Rows of houses, orchard acres, lines of tree trunks Women are power figures, so I depict them that way". So at least, that should give you some idea of what to expect if you had no clue that Dylan was a dab hand with a paintbrush.
Following this showcase in London, Dylan will next be heading to Copenhagen where he will be unveiling some new pieces at the Statens Museum for Kunst, so if you're around and about in Denmark then you may be able to take in even more of the musician's creations.
And if you fancy checking out a few other things on offer at the Halcyon, having a butcher's at Mitch Griffith's paintings might be fun. His collection - The Promised Land - features 25 canvasses and apparently is an expression of his concerns about modern life.
