Those who are considering seeing in 2011 up north may like to book a hostel in Edinburgh as soon as possible and grab a ticket for the Hogmanay Street Party.
Early bird tickets have already sold out, but there are still others available for the event, which begins on December 30th and lasts until January 2nd.
The website calls the spectacle - which is entering its 18th year - the world's number one party and last year saw 80,000 revellers turn up to celebrate at Hogmanay with visitors from more than 60 countries.
People may like to celebrate the new year in a traditional Scottish way with the Concert in the Gardens - which takes place at West Princes Street Gardens on New Years Eve - and The Keilidh events, for which tickets will go on sale in the autumn.
Reserving a cheap hostel in Edinburgh could be ideal to save money and handy for a place to crash out in after the festivities.
Concert in the Gardens will feature music and fireworks - set beneath the backdrop of Edinburgh castle - which come together to be "one of the most stunning New Year events in the world", according to festival's website.
And if this year's extravaganza is anything like previous events - which have included performances from Kasabian, Madness and Blondie among others - it could be worthwhile booking an Edinburgh hostel for.
