Veronique Potelet Anty, from the Paris Office du Tourisme et des Congres - the official tourist board for the French capital - said visitors can enjoy many low-budget experiences in the city such as accommodation, which could include a cheap Paris hostel.
She noted that everyone can find their own happiness depending on their budget, but the expensive way of live - such as fashion, designers and palaces - always spring to mind when individuals think about the area.
"The Parisian metro and bus system is affordable and enables people to visit the whole city easily," she added.
Those looking for a weekend break might like to book a hostel in Paris for the first weekend of a month, as the national museums in the city are free on the opening Sunday of every month.
But some, such as the National Museum of Modern Art, can even be entered for no charge seven days a week.
And culture vultures might be particularly interested in this building as it contains more than 50,000 works of painting, sculpture and architecture.
Ms Anty added: "All year round 300 events take place and rhythm the Parisian days and nightlife: from a free concert during a summer festival to Nuit Blanche there is always something to do in the city in combination with a walk in the open air monument that the city is."
Nuit Blanche - which means sleepless night - occurs on Saturday October 2nd.
