This is according to the Main Line Times, which noted that Spargelzeit - also known as 'asparagus time' - is currently ongoing, which could be the perfect event for all vegetarians and other foodies staying in Berlin hostels to frequent.
Apparently, gastronomes are not just faced with a handful of spears and told to go on their merry way - it would seem that restaurants and other eateries go all out in the preparation of the food and visitors staying in Berlin hostels will be able to sample it in any number of dishes.
"From the end of April until the Feast of St John the Baptist, Berliners go bonkers over asparagus, in particular the pillowy, white asparagus cultivated in this small town just 30 miles from the country's capital," the news source observed.
However, there are other reasons for visiting this part of Germany aside from tasty asparagus and one such motive for doing so could well be the Classic Open Air series of concerts, which will be taking place between July 15th and 19th, with genres such as jazz, soul, swing and opera featuring and none other than one of the Three Tenors themselves, Jose Carreras, opening the whole show.
