Eco-warriors may appreciate hostels in Rome
And it's these people who may well and truly enjoy booking hostels in Rome for their vacations as the city has just been named by the Catholic University Health Observatory as the second healthiest municipality, coming behind only Oslo, the Xinhua News Agency reports.
The body responsible for the study took into account environment, transport, health services, communication and citizen participation when compiling its results, also finding that Venice, Florence, Bologna, Milan, Genoa and Turin fared well in terms of providing good quality of life and expectations.
Jet-setters eagerly booking their Rome hostels upon hearing this news will, once they arrive, be able to enjoy 131.7 sq m of green space each, which is what the township has to offer every citizen - not bad considering there are approximately 2.5 million residents. These areas come in the form of historical villas, public gardens and a great number of parks that travellers can spend time and relax in.
Regardless of its green credentials, Rome is certainly a lovely place to visit, one that the majority of people are likely to fall in love with. As the Daily Telegraph's Adriaane Pielou recently described it, it is "the world's most extravagantly beautiful city", suggesting that it may be the perfect area to visit for all those holidaymakers keen to fill their photo albums up with gorgeous pictures of their time away.
