Elvis has entered the building
Ah, Elvis. You're the man - a fact that the whole world agrees with, it would seem, given the endless Elvis competitions, lookalikes and singalikes that can be found all around the globe. Apparently, Ireland is no exception and if you're a backpacker with a penchant for The King who happens to be in the area at the start of November, it might be fun to head to Bundoran in Donegal for a cheap travel Graceland-esque adventure.

That's right, folks. The Bundoran Elvis Festival is setting up shop between November 6th and 9th, where some of the world's finest tribute acts will be taking to the stage to pay tribute to the late, great Mr Elvis Presley in the final of the All Ireland Elvis competition. Sounds pretty fantastic, if you ask me. Everyone loves a bit of Jailhouse Rock and I for one would not pass up the opportunity to see a town overrun with Elvis wannabes. And the contest isn't all that's shaking down at Bundoran that weekend - backpackers will also get the privilege of watching a variety of concerts and some fringe shows at different venues throughout the town.

Even more exciting, the winner of 2009's All Ireland Elvis battle will move on to compete in the Elvis World Cup, which is taking place in summer next year, with the final on July 4th. Held at the St David's Concert Hall in Cardiff, the event will see 12 national champions come to the capital to sing their hearts out for the much-coveted crown.

So go forth and sate your Elvis cravings across Britain in the next few months. Love, laugh and have fun. I have just one thing left to say to you all: "Thank you. Thank you very much."ADNFCR-2435-ID-19387954-ADNFCR
