VisitLondon has done an amazing job of collating a list of where to go, what to do and scary stuff to see if freaking yourself out on All Hallow's Eve is what you're about. Something you can go and see from tomorrow (October 17th) - if you're of an impatient disposition and waiting until the 31st is too much like hard work - is London Dungeon's Scare Witch Trials. Here, visitors are transported back in time to the 17th century to stand trial as a witch in the Witch-Finder General's courtroom before having to fight their way out of a prison.
If that's too hardcore - and thinking about it now, it sounds like something I might chicken out of as well - there's Trick and Treating at the London Eye until November 1st. More one for the children, the wheel will be transformed into a creepy witches' forest, complete with a bog of no return.
Failing that, a visit to Mexico for its Day of the Dead festival is always a good idea for Halloween. Here, the townspeople hit the streets with lots of music, dancing and fireworks to honour their ancestors and remember their loved ones who have passed.
